Offline Mode
CFC:E's offline mode allows you to create and customize your character identity, and organize your collected cards into custom decks. You can play games and challeges to earn new cards or participate in exhibition or tournament bouts against cpu opponents. Practice hard to build up rank then take your character out and battle online.

Once Offline Mode is selected, you will be asked to select an identity file to use. You can select any existing identity files on your hard drive from or you can enter a new name in the dialog box to create a new idenitity.

The Offline Mode is presented with your character identity details at the top, and menu options at the bottom. Use the arrow keys and enter to select from Identity Edit, Exhibition Battle, Tournament Battle, Card Games, or to return to the main CFC:E menu. Brand new identity's should head for the Identity Edit mode as they will not yet have the means to Battle or Gamble.

Identity Edit
Identity Edit allows you to customize the details of your character. Your characters name is displayed at the top of the screen and the first option, Change Portrait, will allow you to change your character's face when highlighted. You can use the left and right arrow keys to change between all the available character faces.
The next 3 options relate to decks of cards. You must have at least one deck defined to participate in card battles. When a new identity is created it has no cards, and therefore no decks. At that time, selecting Create Deck will create a starter deck with 50 D rank cards for free, but any other time the character must have at least 50 extra cards in their collection to create a new deck. You can however create as many decks as you like.

A small blue highlight will identify the currently selected deck number, and its name will be displayed. With any of the deck options highlighted, press left or right to cycle through available decks. You can use Modify Deck to view and edit the currently selected contents of a deck. Alternatively, if you have more than 1 deck, you can use Delete Deck to delete the currently selected deck. Note: Cards will not be lost, just returned to your collection for use in other decks.
Lastly, return to main will bring you back to the main offline mode menu. Pressing enter will save your character changes permanently, while escape will cancel them and revert to the saved identity before you entered identity edit.

Exhibition Battle
Offline Exhibition battles are single battles against other computer controlled card players. Victory will earn you a set of random cards to add to your collection. Each cpu controlled player has their own name, win / loss records, and decks. You can use the character's rank to determine how skilled they are in battle. The opponents rank will decide what value cards you can when in battle, and also how many cards you could win. Defeating a high rank opponent may give the best rewards, but if you lose, you get nothing.
